About Us

Boy Scout Troop 1922 is chartered by Lakeside United Methodist church located in Summerwood NNE of Houston, TX. Troop 1922 is a boy-led Boy Scout Troop dedicated to the ideals of the Boy Scouts of America national organization. We seek to provide opportunities for fun, learning and leadership development. We understand that boys and families will have many competing obligations and activities, and we believe that Scouting can offer valuable experiences while allowing boys to maintain a balanced life.

Troop 1922 camps or attends events about once per month. Themes include, rock climbing, canoeing, hiking,  white water rafting, air show, etc.  Troop 1922 operates using the "patrol method." All scouts are assigned to a patrol. Each patrol functions as an independent operating unit of the troop. They will elect a patrol leader. A patrol advisor will work closely with the patrol leader in developing and implementing a plan for the patrol.  We seek to make leaders and long lasting memories.

Yet the most basic element is our scouts are offered the choice to grow and live following the Scout Law: A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent;

And the opportunity to follow the Scout Oath throughout their lives: On my honor, I’ll do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to obey the scout law, help other people at all times, keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
